Advice by Player Level
Beginner — Synthetic multifilament, 55–60 lb. Comfort first; we keep arm fatigue low. Re-string every 3–4 months.
Intermediate — Hybrid or soft poly, 51–57 lb. The balance between control and feel. Re-string at every break, or every 2 months if you play twice a week.
Advanced / competitive — Polyester, 49–53 lb. Maximum precision and control on topspin strokes. Re-string every 8–10 hours of play, regardless of breakage — string loses 30% of its tension after 5 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I re-string?
Simple rule: as many times a year as you play per week. Twice-a-week player = 2 stringings a year minimum. Daily player: 6 to 10 per year.
How do I choose tension?
Lower tension (49–51 lb) gives more power and spin, but less control. Higher tension (57–62 lb) gives more control, but less ball launch. JMG helps you find your sweet spot.
Can I bring my own string?
Yes. The labor-only fee is $18 + tx instead of the string-included rate. We still check that the string is compatible with your racquet before installation.
Are you really open on Sundays?
Yes, every Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. It's often our busiest day — many players use the weekend to get their racquets ready for the week ahead.
Do you accept mail-in service?

What's the warranty?
If the string breaks within 48 hours of stringing (frame breakage excluded), we re-string for free.
